Yalli is not just a dance; it is a cultural heritage where people hold hands, move together, and create harmony through rhythm. This artwork presents Yalli as a reflection of humanity's unity and the collective power that can contribute to social, economic, and gender equality. The circular structure of the dance symbolizes an equitable distribution of differences, where no one is superior to another. On the other hand, people holding hands represent the belief that human societies, different cultures, and genders can come together for common goals. Just as every individual contributes to the harmony of this dance, societies must also act collectively to ensure justice and balance. This piece envisions a more just and harmonious world where differences merge without conflict, and equality and balance are maintained. The portrayal of Yalli here not only highlights the value of our national culture but also emphasizes the necessity of collective action in addressing global challenges.
Weaving a carpet is like playing Tetris-both rely on arranging pieces step by step to form a complete design. In this artwork, the Yalli dance takes shape on a digital screen, much like a game of Tetris. However, instead of regular Tetris blocks, elements of a Yalli sketch fall into place, forming a complete image. Merging tradition with modern technology demonstrates that cultural heritage can be reimagined in a digital context.
This also embodies the spirit of Yalli-just as dancers come together to create harmony, every piece in this work becomes part of a whole. This artwork places the ancient and symbolic Yalli dance at the heart of the concept of equality.
